I have to be honest, I did NOT buy this to boil eggs; I bought this for meditation. I do a specific 4-minute meditation for clearing out junk and reprogramming my mind at the beginning of the day. I was either using a stopwatch, setting the alarm really quick or using one of those old wind-up manual 'ticking' type minute timers for cooking. When I stumbled across this timer I thought I had to try it...
Well, for my purposes, it was the perfect solution to my problem. I punch a button, set the timer at my side and do my meditation. In four minutes, a gentle alarm goes off to let me know that the time is up. No more fiddling with the alarm or being annoyed by noisy ticking kitchen timers. I will start promoting this to my friends who meditate.

Coffee aficionados know that 4-minutes is the perfect time for brewing coffee in a French press. The problem is that in our busy daily lifestyle it is easy to forget exactly how long your coffee has been brewing. Bodum has invented the perfect solution ? our 4-minute clip timer. The timer is preset for 4-minutes. Just clip the timer right on to the plunger rod below the knob and hit start as you set the plunger/lid unit of your press into place. After 4 minutes the timer will beep letting you know that it is time to plunge and enjoy your cup of coffee. Once the timer stops it automatically resets itself back to 4-minutes so that you are ready to brew your next pot. Battery included. Note: this timer is preset to 4-minutes and cannot be used for any other time setting.Four minutes after hot water is poured over the grounds in a Bodum coffee press and stirred, the coffee is ready to be plunged and served. Keeping track of that four minutes is now a snap, thanks to Bodum's own four-minute timer.
