Customer Review: Fantastic little cordless kettle!

We've had two of these and honestly the only time we ever even think of using a stovetop kettle is when the power goes out in the house! My wife is from Europe and when she first came over three years ago, a cordless kettle was one of her first demands. A friend at work gave me one that he had brought from europe and converted the element to work on 110v here in the states. That lasted for about aa year and by that time we were able to find a replacement in Target and now here in Amazon. These things are great and very cheap. Just the convenience is worth having to buy a new one every few years, although I do wish they would last a bit longer. As our familly grows we will likely add one of the larger versions of the kettle. Can't recommend this product enough! Get one for your student going off to college or a house warming or wedding present, and they will use it every day. :-)

This is a Curl electric cordless water kettle by Bodum. It boils 47 oz. of water in four minutes using 1500 watts of power and shuts itself off automatically when done. The kettle holds a maximum of 47 oz and must be filled to a minimum of 15 oz which is just enough to cover the heating element to operate. This super-curvy carafe like kettle comes with a stationary power base and heating element so no cable gets in the way of pouring your tea or coffee. Both kettle and base are made of recyclable plastic.Product Features

ChinaShaped like a carafe, the Curl water kettle is sized to boil water for about 5 or 6 servings of instant coffee, tea, or soup. Made of heavyweight polypropelene plastic, the kettle holds a maximum of 47 ounces (1.4 liters) and must be filled to a minimum of 15 fluid ounces (.45 liters)--just enough to cover the heating element--to operate. The cordless kettle locks into a small plastic electric base containing a thick-film heating element. The base takes up little counter space and allows the kettle to swivel in any direction for convenience. A floating red water level indicator on the outside of the Curl rises as water is added and shows how many cups of liquid it is holding. However, the indicator is often difficult to see within the Curl's four tiny bubble windows. A switch below the kettle's handle flips up and illuminates to show that the power is on. The heating process is rapid and quiet: it takes about 4 minutes to boil the full 47 ounces of water and the sound is almost imperceptible. For safety purposes, the Curl automatically shuts off after boiling. For safety, the kettle has a hinged spill-proof lid that opens only by a push button and a frosted handle for a secure grip.
