Bought this as replacement for existing coffee press which had cracked. The old one had a small mesh filter vs. the plastic one. I feel that the mesh filter is more effective to reduce coffee sediment from your cup.Customer Review: Don't know what the 3-cup means, but it's really good.

I got this as a present for a friend and he has used it almost every day. It's really easy to use and clean and makes just the right amount of coffee. If you're a big coffee drinker or have more than one person in the house that drinks coffee, get a larger one. This "3-cup" really makes one cup at a time - unless we are going by the old fashion measurement of a cup of coffee (less than 4 oz. a cup)Customer Review: Miniature

We use this for loose tea and it is amazing! I only wish I would have noticed that the 3 cup only makes 12 ounces (about one coffee mug). Next time, I'll get a bigger size.
