We've had these for 2 months now, and we always use the dishwasher to clean it. We haven't had any problems so far.
The advantages of this mug are:
1) Solidly built stainless steel - no worries about BPA.
2) Dishwasher safe
3) Spill proof lid.
4) Insulation
5) Wide mouth so you can fit ice cubes in.
6) Sized to fit a car cup holder.
The disadvantages:
1) It only seems to keep water (refrigerated, no ice) cold for 1-2 hours. Thermos Stainless-Steel 22-Ounce Leak-Proof Hydration Bottle keeps the water
cold much longer.
2) It is only "spill proof", not "leak proof" unlike the Thermos
My wife and I greatly prefer the Thermos for hiking, sports, and any outdoor activity. It is indestructible. We use the Bodum for both hot and cold beverages
in the car, at home, and at work. That means the Bodum gets much more use.
