Purchased this press for a coffee lover who spends too much money at trendy coffee houses when out and uses an automatic drip coffee maker with brand name ground coffee at home. The press is good looking and is enclosed with an outer covering that feels somewhat rubberized, which should help to protect the glass components of the press. Press is very easy to use and produces very smooth and flavorful coffee - much better than from the automatic drip coffee maker at home and the trendy coffee house brews. While the press claims to make 8 cups, in reality it makes 2-to-2.5 U.S. mug servings of coffee. The process involved with using and cleaning the press is not any more time consuming than using and cleaning the old coffee maker.
